Due to our continued growth, we are looking for an aspiring Technical Services Manager to join our Altrincham based IT service centre.

This position is highly technical and is part of the IT Technical Services team. The role is responsible for maintaining the entire CCH Server and Networking estate at all times keeping resilience, disaster recovery and capacity planning as a primary focus. The candidate must have experience of Servers and networks, and working in stressful and demanding environments and be accustomed to delivering stable IT infrastructure to core business needs in large environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • On-going proactive maintenance of Server and Network systems
  • Research and development of new ideas and technologies to improve the infrastructure
  • Specification and implementation of technical solutions and infrastructure technologies to meet business requirements
  • Management and maintenance of group-wide backup and recovery systems
  • Management and maintenance of Antivirus and security systems
  • Proactive monitoring of Network, Server and Storage systems using group standard tools
  • Responding to Data Centre notifications for failed hardware/software
  • Assisting in capacity planning and monitoring of storage and systems at all times
  • Assisting in disaster recovery strategy planning and testing
  • Keeping up to date documentation of all servers, racks, systems and configurations
  • Assist in development and maintenance of communication, dependency and reliance plan for system reboots and outages
  • Adhere to change control procedure when working with infrastructure technologies

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Customer Service driven individual who understands the importance of the person and the business behind the technology
  • Business literate, confident and enthusiastic about technology
  • Tenacious problem solver who demonstrates creativity in finding solutions
  • Health Care industry experience desirable
  • Degree level qualification in IT or similar.
  • MCSE/MCITP/CCNA certification or equivalent experience
